About me

Hello my name is Colin

I'm 56 years old and have held my full amateur radio licence since February 2003, Starting out as M3CNZ and progressing to 2E1IKE, then passing the last original RAE to become M0DLY. I have been interested in radio for over 40 years now since my grandfather bought me a CB radio when I was 14 years old, I was hooked after that. as I got a little older I acquired a Yaesu FR-50B receiver I spent many many hours listening to that, I have spent the best part of those 40 years as a SWL. One day I came across G0XCF Colin Foley.
I sent him a online report after finding him on qrz.com, he sent me a very nice letter and qsl card with info on how to become a radio amateur, so I joined the local radio club
FINNINGLEY AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY. (F.A.R.S) and the rest is history so they say.
I still have yet to make contact with Colin but I'm sure it will happen one day.
My QTH is a little village called Dunscroft, 7 miles north east of Doncaster, South Yorkshire. I'm about 180 miles north of the city of London. I have many hobbies, amateur radio and computers and building antenna's to painting and 3d printing. I'm into digital modes in a big way as I can use both radio and pc to communicate.  Also lately I have been restoring old broadcast radio's some of witch are in my vintage radio section, I also enjoy just constructing things, some of these are in the projects section.
